I've started experimenting to keep in front of the
Befriending Caithness
volunteers and our TEXTile Fabric of Life,
Lyth Arts Centre
artist residency collaboration!

When you just want to stitch big!

These are a pair of my dads old waders - leaky, over the years the various attempts at patching them up, didn't work. He has a new pair, and I kept the old ones, waiting for the perfect project!!
I've punched holes and started stitching sea themed words onto them with upcyled handline fishing twine. Taking photos of work in progress, the shed is usually where I end up hanging things - this time, the white tub which I usually move out of the way, fits the theme perfectly - a beachcombed tub Joe has punched holes in to stop it filling with water and added a rope handle.
The waders will be added to the TEXTile garments
Befriending Caithness
are making - fun reminiscence conversations starters.
